ARTIST STATEMENT
After many years painting realistically, I began painting in abstract style. Struggling against boredom and the comfort of things familiar, abstract painting was both exciting and frightening. Liberation is extremely gratifying and allows the soul to receive the seeds of creativity.
Color is like eye candy to me. I don't produce art about one subject or another; I work instinctively, letting the composition and color direct my artwork. Inspiration comes from nature - the ocean, sky and earth. Works are rendered in acrylic paints, inks and multi-textured mixed media.
Past President of Visual Arts Alliance, currently Vice President of VAA. Member of Women in Visiual and Literary Arts (WIVLA) and the League of Women Voters (LWV).
